C-USA Final CUSA Standings

Had a bet that UNT would finish at best 3rd in the west. All the standings I see have them second based on their better overall record when compared to us. Should we not be second based on head-to-head record? Since there is a three way tie with USM, how do they decide second, third and fourth place?
