Iowa State DE Jayden Gray has committed to LA Tech, per sources.

By my count, our QB depth chart is

1. Downing (hurt—tough injury to fully return)
2. Turner ( walk-on)
3. Bullock (HS experience, possible parent problems)

That’s the list. So, the most important position in the whole athletic department, and this is what we’ve got.

What’s the plan or are we just winging it, hoping someone will want to be “the guy”. We need another HS recruit IMO.

The dead period will still be in place for high school players this upcoming weekend but schools are allowed to bring in 2 & 4 year transfers. That means transfer from junior colleges and other 4-year universities.

How will Tech play? Guys, I have no clue. There is a lot going within the program the last week or so. Nothing major, but it’s pretty clear that Talvin requires a lot more from his guys than the previous regime. I’m talking effort, discipline, etc. They are still working through some of those things.

Don’t expect to see David Green.

Is sponsoring an athlete allowed or is that considered a NIL deal? Could as an example could someone pick a student athlete and sponsor them for let's say 200/month or so? Could a program be started to do that?

Quick turnaround for the Dunkin’ Dogs as they square off with Charlotte today.

Tip-off is scheduled for 1 PM on ESPN+.

Charlotte is 10-3 overall, but their best win was probably on Thursday night against MTSU. They do have a road win at Davidson.

The 49ers are 6-0 at home.

They are shooting 38% from behind the 3-point line, which is phenomenal. Will be a tough test for Tech.

They run most of their offense through their post guy Khalifa. Tech shut Germany down the other night, can they do the same today?

Charlotte is a 6-point favorite. Should learn a lot about our team.
