FOOTBALL 2016 tickets on sale but you have to give to LTAC for more sections

Beginning this year, all season tickets purchased in Sections D, DD, E, EE, F and FF will require a minimum LTAC donation of $100 per seat, due by June 30. Also the LTAC donation requirement for Box Seats at Joe Aillet Stadium this season is now $250 per seat. This unrestricted donation to LTAC will go directly toward Louisiana Tech’s mission of building champions on the field, in the classroom and in life. All LTAC gifts are tax deductible and help fans gain priority for postseason and away game ticketing.

I understand Tech needs more money in athletics but is this a smart way to do it? Season tickets are extremely important to the athletic budget because it's money they know is coming in. As few season tickets as Tech sells, the smart buy for Tech fans would be to buy seats elsewhere and just get up and move since it's not like there won't be enough seats to move to.

Am I missing something?
