Ben & Others:

Do you prefer 247Sports or Rivals when looking at a team's commits and rankings?

Rivals:

As of 8:15 p.m. (CST) tonight, I took a look at Rivals' rankings for 2019 football commits in CUSA. (I will only reflection the top three (3) teams. (see below)

#1 - UNT
#2 - USM
#3 - LTU

4 & 5 stars: 0 for these teams
3-stars: (see below)

Analysis:
(Team - Total - 3-Star Status - Avg - Pts)
UNT - 23 (10 3-stars); avg 2.35; 1080
USM - 26 (9 3-stars); avg 2.27; 1080
LTU - 15 (8 3-stars); avg 2.53; 795

Comments:
1 - "Total" - This apparently includes a team's signings from today & any others who have verbally committed but not yet signed, e.g., LTU (11 signed + 4 hard commits but not signed today)
2 - Tech has the highest average based on its players.
3 - The higher the number of commits (signed today + any not signed) for a team is a plus when calculating the number of "Points."
4 - I am not sure of the formula for determining "Points" for a team. For Tech, I multiplied the "Average" & "Total," but did not come up with the "Points" as reflected in the far right of the analysis above.

247Sports:

#1 - UNT (signed 22; 1 hard commit)
#2 - USM (signed 19; 6 hard commits)
#3 - LTU (signed 11; 4 hard commits)
(Note: "Hard Commits" = not signed to date)

Average Rating: National Ranking:

UNT - 0.8270 63
USM - 0.8104 67
LTU - 0.8281 80

Comments:
1 - Tech's average rating for the Class of 2018 was 0.8220. (I see Maurese Wren included as a "Signed." Tech's 2019 rating is slightly higher at 0.8281 versus 2018.
2 - Despite Tech having the highest "Average Rating" for its commits (Signed + Hard Commits), once again the higher the number of commits is a plus in determining the CUSA Ranking and National Ranking.
4 - Personally, I look at the team's overall "Rating" versus the "Ranking" at this stage of recruiting. Once the recruiting process ends, hopefully the players perform up to and beyond their "Rating."

OK - lots of info! Let the BTB guru & others go at it! Do you prefer Rivals or 247Sports?
