Here are some numbers through 3 games for Tech in 2019. We will discuss this on BTB Radio tonight.
Offensive Numbers in 2019:
PPG: 23 (25 in 2018)
First Downs Per Game: 22 (20 in 2018)
Rush Yards Per Game: 124 – 99th nationally (130 in 2018)
Pass Yards Per Game: 295 – 26th nationally (250 in 2018)
Total Yards Per Game: 419 (379 in 2018)
Third Down Conversion Rate: 33% (40% in 2018)
Red Zone: 6/8 with 5 TDs (stopped on fourth against Grambling, kneeled at end against BG)
PFF has Tech with 3 drops in 3 games in 2019 after 38 in 2018.
Why is Tech not scoring more points? To me, I think it shows the importance of all 11 players clicking on offense. Right now, the unit as a whole is just too inconsistent. I think it’s close to fully clicking but not there yet.

Third Down Conversion Rate Allowed: 40% (35% in 2018)

Opponents have scored on 6 of 12 trips into the Red Zone (Opponents scored 31 of 34 trips into RedZone last season against Tech)
Tech is also averaging over 6 penalities per game.
Thoughts? Obviously it’s only a 3 game sample size versus 13 last season. I’ll try to do something similar to this every 3 games or so.
