Southeastern coach, Matt Riser, is the favorite for the Rice job at this point. Former big leaguers, Lance Berkman and Jose Cruz Jr. are also in the running. Berkman wants this job badly.
Former Tech assistant, Rick McCarty, is interviewing for the head job at Abilene Christian. I hope Rick gets a head job soon. He's not only a phenomenal coach, but a great man as well. McCarty is currently the pitching coach at Dallas Baptist.
I did not see Burroughs named mentioned amongst any of the openings. Mississippi State continues to swing for the fences at this point.
