In the 02/03 edition of the Dallas Morning News, there was an article on NSD. The article was entitled "Schools sign a fraction of those courted.

Heading: Offers skyrocket

In the 2018 cycle, the five "power five" teams in TX (TX, TX A&M, TX Tech, TCU, and Baylor) offered an average of about 144 scholarships, according to 247Sports.com.

2018 offers / signees
TX 120 27
TX A&M 134 23
TX Tech 148 22
TCU 188 23
Baylor 132 23

Overall, twenti-five Division I programs offered at least 281 football scholarships in the 2019 recruiting cycle, and 10 offered more than 354, according to herosports.com breakdown of 247Sports.com data.

To keep its four-year cycle at the NCAA's 85 football scholarship allotment, a program can accept 21 to 22 players on average per class.

Two other headings included "Dirty game" and "Timing is tricky." (very interesting)

Ben:

1 - Approximately how many offers were made by Tech for the Class of 2019?

2 - Moving forward with future recruiting classes, will Tech need to make changes to its recruiting, e.g., extend more offers, recruit more high school players, recruit more juco players, etc?

3 - I don't recall past recruiting classes at Tech having so much tension heading to the last day of NSD, especially when looking to land OL and DT. (This may be attributed to the NCAA having an early signing day in Dec, followed by a second day in Feb. I think this was the NCAA's second year for this format.)

To avoid the last day woes of NSD, what do you think Tech needs to do to rectify its recruiting process versus no change needed?
