This will be an extremely young group, which is why I think Tech is still looking for a grad transfer CB.
Hannibal is obviously the most experienced. He played the best game of his career in the bowl game against Miami. He has to step up. It's a MUST.
Jones and Taylor-Cortez are the most talented guys. Jones started his career at Southern Miss, Taylor-Cortez at Iowa State. Two big, long CBs.
Calhoun will be the nickel, unless Hannibal is unable to handle the outside CB spot, then he'll slide back inside at times.
CJ Johnson was the best true freshman CB last season. He needs to gain some weight though. He was a kid Tech flipped from Memphis just before signing day in 2019.
Turner is walk-on, will always be a good special teams guy.
Thornton dealt with some injuries last year, missed a lot of practice time, but he was a highly rated recruit in the 2019 class.
McFarland, Woods, and Marshall will likely redshirt. McFarland was a late commit in 2020 that was a big get, didn't get grades in line until late, Woods was the first commitment in the 2020 class.
David Blackwell and Jeff Burris have their work cut out for them in 2020. They have plenty of talent in the room, but it's a bunch of unproven talent.
