Conference USA opened its 22nd season this weekend and the reigning top five conference is off to a good start in 2017. League teams opened with a 10-2 mark on opening day and finished the weekend with a mark of 25-13. A total of five schools went through the weekend undefeated, as 2016 NCAA participants Florida Atlantic (Monmouth), Louisiana Tech and Southern Miss (Northeastern) were joined by Old Dominion (LIU Brooklyn) and UAB (Creighton) in posting 3-0 ledgers. Rice split with Texas.
