Sitting here trying to figure out the latest marketing ploy-- Dunk Dynasty. Is this more than a pathetic attempt to capitalize on this show's success? Are they coming to the game? Are they bringing 3,000 of their loyal fans? Are they donating a large sum to our Athletic Department? Are we going to be featured in an upcoming episode of the show like ULM was for 30 minutes last night? If the answer to these questions are not "yes" ( no indication from Tech that any of these are yes) then the only question we as true fans should ask is "why?" Why are we being encouraged to wear Camo to a nationally televised game instead of Blue? Why are we giving away Camo Towels instead of blue ones? I just don't get it......Except for the fact that all attempts so far this year have been lackluster at best. 1st example is combo of white out/operation sellout 2.0 at a 3 pm tip on Saturday of MLK 5 day weekend for local schools. This whole deal seemed poorly planned. The 1984-85 Team honoring ceremony where only 2 players showed up. How does that happen? 2nd example is the continual, tired offer of Free Pizza for the first 200 students despite lagging student attendance. It's not working! How about engaging the student organizations and building relationships to encourage attendance at every game and not simply for one half of one game per year? I could go on, but will stop here.
