I have a feeling this OL is going to be pretty stinkin' good. When they went into their run drills the OL was able to create room against Tech's talented DL. The DL and OL exchanged blows pretty evenly and I came away feeling good about both which is hard to do when it's the same team. So often you come away thinking one group was far better than the other. Offensively, the OL still is probably the biggest concern but I still say they're much better than they were a year ago.

This group of receivers is as good as you expect them to be. And the QBs are all talented. J'Mar Smith is something else folks. It's amazing how in one year QB has gone from a concern to a strength.

The LB are a group I swung and missed badly on in the preview. They are moving people around like crazy there. Farris is still at middle linebacker with Thomason behind him, Mims is at WILL with the twos behind Fitte then it has been C.J. Cleveland and Lloyd Grogan at SAM. Holtz keeps calling Grogan a nickle but it could just be to be cryptic. A rose by another name...

At DL I think they should be okay. They need Aaron Brown to come back but the inexperienced guys like Cedric Johnson and Tyler Porter have looked decent at DT. Jaylon Ferguson is FAST off the edge. We haven't seen any DEs standing yet but it's only day 3. I'll look more at this group tomorrow.

WR is a strength and there will be few teams on Tech's schedule that can contain them for 4 quarters. Marlon Watts has great ball skills and will go up and get it. DeJuan Oliver is a grinder and is going to make these coaches take him seriously (and they do). Conner Smith continues to be reliable. Kam McKnight is coming along. Marcus Gaines has had a really good camp. Paul Turner is catching the ball cleaner than he did last year -- probably because of his number of reps catching.

The running backs are good as you know. But the fullbacks have come in and shown up in a big way. Today was the first time to really see Bobby Holly and WOW. He pancaked at least two and it was just shells today. Marlon Seets has gotten bigger and Ricky Jones is still himself.

The safeties are good and the no. 2 corners are improving.
