The defense flew around today. I really like the move of Lloyd Grogan to nickle. Nick Thomason was with the one's today at MIKE and Russell Farris with the twos. Vernon Butler is a man and will get paid handsomely to play this game. Jay Ferguson can really rush the passer. The safeties are playing well as would be expected.
Carlos Henderson had an injury to his finger during practice (dislocated I think). Dixon didn't do much today. Crsft was the primary back and Martin had a lot of touches too and busted a couple of long runs. Jaqwis Dancy is fast but needs to get his pad level down -- he runs nearly upright. Marlon Seets has put on some pounds and embraced the fullback role. The OL struggled a bit today. One time Holtz yelled, "[Joseph] Brunson you're killing us out there." Wixson and Mahaffey are hard to imagine not being a starter for Southern. I also expect Darrell Brown to be. I could see Brunson and Jens Danielson getting passed up.
Marcus Gaines is having a really good camp. Today was Kam McKnight's best practice as a Bulldog. Grant Childress had a good day today and seems to really grasp the playbook right now.
Both Jeff Driskel and Ryan Higgins look good. Price Wilson is the no. 3 right now and J'Mar Smith was the no. 4 today with Alex Woodall moving to no. 5.
