Calhoun getting a few reps with the 2’s at CB.
Roberson seeing some time at a nickel spot.
It’s so apparent that Trey Baldwin just wants to tackle at all times. The whole touching a guy down is not something he enjoys.
4-man front is the base on defense today. Garner and Bradford at DT. Turner and Ferguson at DE. Everything else the same.
Tucker and Henderson continue to get reps with 1’s at RB. Tucker is so good.
Shipley is the 3rd OT at this point.
Showing a 2 RB look. Creating misdirection. Even a diamond look with Veal in backfield.
Mote still at LG over Kirkpatrick.
Offense showing some zone option out of diamond look. Getting J’Mar on edge. Defense is so dang fast though.
Baker, Davenport, Mason, Ydarraga across the front with 2’s.
Hannibal and Sam at CB with 2’s.
Smoke in backfield some in diamond. Electric on the option.
Durman playing really well at LB. Continues to make plays in run game.
Williamson continues to get praise for his communication skills at safety.
Showing an extra OL in the run game some.
Dancy is dressed out, but not getting reps. Still banged up I assume.
Burris coaching up the CBs on nearly every play. He sees things far before they happen. Incredible.
Tristan Allen getting his first team reps of the fall.
A lot of redzone work offensively today. Primarily in the run game.
Turner back inside to DT, Ydarraga at DE.
In third down spots is where you’ll see a plethora of DBs come on the field.
Defense is covering extremely well, but I am encouraged by J’Mar’s composure in the pocket. I’m not seeing any panic and he’s getting through his reads.
Henderson not pressing holes particularly well at RB today. Looking for the cutback too quickly.
George Scott has made a few nice plays.
Shipley left practice early. Not sure what it was, something leg related.
A Cualan Williams sighting, big play on a slant play.
Tahj Magee is going to be very good out of the slot.
Noah Pitre is looking good at RT. Allowing zero pressure.
This defense is going to eat teams up that try to run play action. I’m not sure they’ll have any time to throw.
James Jackson is very good in coverage. A luxury at LB.
Veal having a really good day today.
J’Mar is throwing on the move very effectively.
Mote showing some good ability at pulling and protecting in pass pro on play action.
Henderson getting reps at RT with the 2’s. I know there are a couple of guys banged up but it appears he’s the best freshman OL at this point.
Wallace, Cousar, Cleveland, Kitchen, Kendzior, and Farlow are the only 6 not dressed.
Another really impressive day for Aaron Allen and it isn’t easy to be impressive with the 3’s at times.
The competition on both sides today was intense. Jawing back and forth for most of practice.
That’s it for today. One more open practice tomorrow, then they’ll be closed until next Tuesday.
