A lot of special teams work early in practice today. Focus was kicking it to a corner on kickoffs. Both kickers did a nice job. Farlow needs more hang time.
I saw Cualan Williams, Bonnette, Hardy, Graham, Powell, and Toussant back receiving kicks.
McKnight got the first snap at RB. Holly in at H-back.
Mason and Bradford starting at DT.
Jackson, Washington, and Taylor at LB.
Daniel Lewis with the 1’s at safety again.
Dancy presses the hole quick at RB.
With the 2’s, Allen mauled Garner every play. He opened up a huge hole on a Tucker in the run game.
J’Mar is going to be a threat in run game. He’s moving so well.
DJ Jackson, Cousar, and Wallace were out today.
Praise Okorie is a track guy that tried out this spring and was kept for the fall. He can fly. Still pretty far down the depth chart.
They continue to preach to McKnight to get his pads down.
WRs were blocking well in the bubble screen game. Hardy stood out.
In 1-on-1’s, Allen struggled with Garner. Pretty much whiffed on him. Head got down to quick.
McKnight kept his pads down, Trey Baldwin got ran right through.
Smoke abused Jaiden Cole out of the slot. Cole had no shot.
Toussant ran right past Calhoun on a deep ball. Cox underthrew it and let Calhoun break it up.
Derek Turner all over Smoke on a 1-on-1 corner route and picked it off. Walker with the throw.
Mike Sam is d*** physical. Bonnette got the best of him on a hook route, but he had difficulty getting off the line. Sam might be better than Amik, I’m not kidding.
Rossell was so physical on the OL. Dominated Steven Shaw. Prolly pushed him back 5 yards.
Garner abused Allen again on a 1-on-1. Swim move inside.
Ferguson got great push against Lovett in a 1-on-1. Bull rush.
Lodge is playing LB. He’ll redshirt. Windmon will redshirt too. He needs more weight.
Smoke will make you MISS. Get him in space.
These DBs are really good in coverage. They force a lot of checkdowns.
Bonnette was praised for his route running a couple of times today.
Rossell had no chance against Willie Baker in a 1-on-1. Swim move inside.
Belton had a couple of nice catches over the middle. Then he had one bad drop on a deep out from Elliot. He had beaten Floyd.
Elliot with a seed over the middle to George Scott. Spencer was in defense.
Justin Henderson with a nice 30 yard catch down the seem from Elliot. Right in front of Cole. Henderson isn’t close to 5’10.
Smoke went up over the middle and caught one from Walker. He went up as high as he can get.
Aaron Allen: cannon alert. He’s special.
J’Mar had a much better day. Ball couldn’t have hit the ground more than 5 or 6 times.
Ferguson and Turner standing a lot at the end spots.
Bonnette and Hardy with two bad drops early on in team.
Dugas at LT, Rodriguez at RT. Dugas did a nice job with Ferguson for the most part.
Taylor is moving sideline to sideline much better this fall than he did in the spring.
Willie Allen looked much better in team than he did in 1-on-1’s. His run blocking is still way ahead of his pass blocking.
Powell mixed it up blocking in the short pass game. Coaches loved it. He was fired up. He sprang McKnight for a nice gain.
J’Mar and Elliot were about the same in team period. They missed a couple of throws they should have hit.
Milton Williams had a sack of Walker. He best Rossell off the edge.
Bradford was really good inside at DT today.
Connor Taylor and Washington just stuffing holes in run game. Communicating really well pre-snap.
Mason with TFL on Henderson. Mason has slimmed up as well.
Henderson tried to run through Ferguson and Ferguson wasn’t having any of it. He popped him.
Stallworth not getting reps with the 2’s. Lovett at LT and Shipley at RT. Lovett has been rock solid.
Henderson has the speed to get to an edge. He isn’t slow by any means.
Even saw a TE screen to Braswell for a nice gain. Surprised the defense.
Hannibal continues to get better and better. He’s the 5th CB right now. Calhoun is the 6th.
Willie Baker showed great discipline against read option. Then he had an INT off a deflection on the next play.
I’ll answer any questions.
