My last shot at a depth chart before the official one is released Tuesday:
DE Williams, Shaw
NT Wallace, Jackson
DE Mason, Davenport
OLB Baker, Allen
OLB/S Jackson, Barnett
ILB Scott, Baldwin
ILB Taylor, Hogan
S Sneed, Cole
S Lewis or Williamson
CB Sam, Hannibal
CB Robertson, Roberson
— Barnett is really pushing James Jackson at OLB/S. He’s going to play, really good football player. Former walk-on.
— There’s a real chance Hogan beats out Taylor at some point. I’ve heard Diaco loves the way he plays.
— I think Darryl Lewis gets the start over Williamson, but Beejay will play. Being nicked up late in camp has hurt him, Lewis also playing better.
— Allen Walker will be a pass rush specialist if/when he comes on the field on defense
QB Smith, Elliott
RB Tucker, Henderson, Dancy
FB/H-Back Holly, Adams
WR Graham, Scott
WR Hebert, Matthews
WR Powell, Smoke
WR Hardy, Stanley, Okorie
LT Allen, Rossell
LG Kirkpatrick, Habich
C Russey, Delfin
RG Reed, Mote
RT Lewis, Stallworth
— RB will be a rotation
— Willie Allen won the LT spot pretty easily. Like I’ve said, I think he’s the best tackle Tech has had in a while. So athletic.
— I think Mote is first guard off the bench.
— I’m not real sure Habich is the 2 at guard, but with Henderson out he seems to be the next man up.
— There’s a real possibility Stallworth misses the Texas game and possibly longer. Lewis will need to step up.
—OL health, especially at tackle is a major concern. Tech isn’t far from throwing Brewster and Hankinson into the mix.
PR Sam, Smoke
KR Smoke, Henderson
K Hale, Farlow
P Farlow, Barne
KO Hale, Barnes
DS Blankenship, Conrad
Holder Farlow, White
— Sam is a good punter, doesn’t dance
— My concern with Smoke is sometimes he doesn’t get north and south as quick as I’d like.
— Farlow just became holder a couple of weeks ago, transition has seemed good.
Any questions?
