I've learned more about the NCAA's rule with medical redshirts. In the first half of the season if a players plays in 4 or less games and have an injury that ends his season, he can get a medical redshirt.
That being said, Jaqwis Dancy and Courtney Wallace have 3 more games before a decision has to be made. If either can come back before the UMass game and isn't 100%, Tech can pull them and get a redshirt for either of them. This is what happened to Ephraim Kitchen last year when he was injured in the Western Kentucky game.
Wallace is out of his boot and is not visibly limping and is right at the 6-week mark on a 4-6 week recovery time. Being a 330-pound man, they don't want to rush him back. I'd guess he tries to go next week, if he's cleared and able to go.
Dancy is still in a boot. He's obviously further back. Heaven forbid, if Jarred Craft and/or Boston Scott goes down I feel confident he'll be called upon as the next man up - depending on what part of the season it is.
