RUSTON -- Eighteen Louisiana Tech student-athletes earned their degrees in the fall commencement ceremony at the Thomas Assembly Center on Wednesday, November 19.
The 18 graduates included David Accardo (football), Alex Anderson (football), Nathan Bounds (baseball), Hjortur Brynjarsson (golf), Nolan Darby (football), Cory Denstel (men’s track), Earl Griffin (football), Al Hawkins (football), Stevon Howze (football), Andrew Lassere (baseball), Aaron Lorio (baseball), Lamonda Martin (women’s track), Lashonda Martin (women’s track), Patrick Maxwell (baseball), Candace Novak (women’s soccer), Brad Oestriecher (football), Josh Wheeler (football) and Shane Womack (football).
A total of 148 student-athletes earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher in the fall quarter. Thirty posted a perfect 4.0 GPA.
The 30 student-athletes that earned a cumulative 4.0 in the fall quarter included Jonathan Bale (golf), Emma Barnes (softball), Debora Bolonhini (volleyball), Carly Bonnette (women’s soccer), Timothy Byrd (golf), Colby Cameron (football), Richie Casey (football), Krysta Cicala (volleyball), Regan Clark (softball), Antoinette Cobb (women’s track), Brittany Coffinbargar (women’s soccer), Brandi Decoux (women’s soccer), Eric Fiege (football), Kiva Gresham (women’s soccer), Alex Grunenwald (baseball), Nick Grunenwald (baseball), Patrick Jackson (football), Rachel King (women’s soccer), Olivia Lukasewich (women’s soccer), Ada Makowska (women’s tennis), Molly McKee (women’s soccer), Dylan Moseley (baseball), Drexel Perkins (football), Shawn Oliverson (men’s basketball), Colby Prejeant (men’s track), Kristen Sevier (women’s soccer), Chandler Spence (football), Jeb Stefan (baseball), Alex Williams (baseball) and Jennifer Zamani (women’s soccer).
For the second consecutive year, Louisiana Tech ranks No. 1 in the state of Louisiana and the Western Athletic Conference in student-athlete graduation rate.
In addition to the No. 1 ranking, Tech’s football program was honored recently by the American Football Coaches Association as one of only 32 schools to graduate at least 70 percent of its student-athletes.
Tech was the lone representative from the state and from the WAC included in this prestigious group of football programs.
