Here are some notes on North Texas:
Littrell is in his 4th season at the HC of the Mean Green. He’s 27-22. He’s 0-3 in bowl games losing by an average of 22 points.
North Texas is averaging 35 ppg and are allowing 32 ppg. They are 0-4 on the road in 2019.
QB Mason Fine has played in 46 career games. In 2019, he’s completing 63% of his throws and has thrown for 2,611 yards, 27 TDs, & 6 INTs. He’s got -43 yards rushing. He’s 67% against no pressure, 51% against pressure. He’s had 7 passes batted down. 80.8 PFF Grade, that’s for your Rick.
Siggers is the top rusher with 713 yards rushing, 4 TDs.
Darden is the top WR with 639 yards, 11 TDs. Lawrence has 485 yards, 2 TDs. Shorter has 421 yards, 8 TDs.
KD Davis leads the team with 69 tackles, 5.5 TFL, 2 sacks. He was a Tech commit at one time.
LaDarius Hamilton leads the team with 4 sacks.
As a team, North Texas has forced 8 turnovers in 9 games.
Hair-Griffin will return kicks, he’s averaging 44 yards per return, has one return TD. Darden will return punts, averaging 6 yards per return.
Mooney is 15/18 on FGs. Kenworthy is averaging 43 yards per punt.
C Sosaia Mose has had major issues throughout the year. He has a 49 overall PFF grade, 22.1 pass blocking grade. He’s allowed 15 pressures. RT Brammer commits a bunch of penalties, has allowed 21 pressures. Manase Mose, RG, has allowed 17 pressures. As you can see, the right side of their OL has had major issues. If I was Tech, I’d twist and stunt a bunch against them.
Defensively, they’ll play a third safety a bunch. They play a ton of man coverage in the secondary and make you beat them over the top.
Muhammed, starting safety, is probably their best player on defense. He’s got 53 tackles, likes to try and come down in the box against the run.
The two CBs Johnson and Harvey will commit interference, have 5 combined already. They’ve allowed 727 yards combined and 4 TDs.
Teams have really targeted S Robinson in coverage. He’s got a 44.3 PFF Grade, allowing 65% completion rate, 325 yards, 3 TDs, 4 penalties. Tech might try to expose him with a slot WR.
