RUSTON – Louisiana Tech head coach Eric Konkol announced Tuesday that Qiydar Davis will be out for the remainder of the 2015-16 season.
With only four regular season games remaining, plus postseason, Davis is physically unable to participate the rest of the season. Thus, he will apply for a medical hardship.
“Qiydar’s rehab has progressed, but he is still not where he needs to be in order to play,” Konkol said. “Although we do not have a scholarship available, he has expressed a strong desire to come back next season as a walk-on and complete his eligibility. If he decides to do so, we would support his decision to apply for a medical hardship waiver at that time.”
Davis was averaging 10.6 points and 6.7 rebounds per game through seven contests before suffering a knee injury in the first half versus Jackson State on Dec. 4.
LA Tech returns to action on Thursday, Feb. 25 at 8 p.m. versus North Texas.
