Hey Guys
Last Friday, I was at the True Buzz Athletics media day event, where several Tech commitments were in attendance. Brodrick Calhoun, Kevyon Davis, and DJ Jackson all spoke and answered a handful of questions. Davis didn't speak at length as the others did, as most of the conversation among all the defensive backs in the room usually just broke down to them making fun of each other, but here are some bites from Calhoun and Jackson:
DJ Jackson:
"At first they recruited me both as a defensive end and running back, but I feel more comfortable at D-End. I got tired of playing running back. I think that I really fit in with their D-Ends and the D-line coach coaches some good players that want to sell out for him. When I heard that, I was like whoa, I gotta play for someone like that to teach me techniques and stuff."
On the decision-making process during his recruitment
"At first when I was getting offers, I was like, yeah, this is exciting getting these offers. After things started slowing down, I started thinking that it was time to start thinking where should I go, where my parents can come watch me and my family can come watch me. Tech is only like four-or-five hours away and that's a good trip for them to make to come watch me and go back home."
On the reputation of Louisiana Tech producing NFL-level talent
"It pumps me up. Makes me feel like Oh, I'm next man up."
Brodrick Calhoun
"I don't know who started us all committing there [pointing to former Tech commit Dayven Coleman]. Once they committed, I had a look and just picked Tech ... I'm going over there to start right away, I'm not going to sit on the bench."
Hope you all had a nice weekend
