Is it too early for Tech to have any baseball commits for next season?
There is a 6'5" & 190 lb. senior, who is LHP/1B at Lake Highlands High School, by the name of Ethan Racine. He bats from the left side. A couple of weeks ago, he nearly hit a homer out of Globe Life Park in Arlington, the former ballpark of the Texas Rangers.
Tonight, he played at first base. He had a single and double and drove in a run or two.
He is a very good player and has steadily improved and filled out, both in height band weight, over the last three years.
Ethan has been on the varsity squad since his sophomore year, 2018-2019. As a sophomore, he was a relief pitcher and occasionally played first base.
I would be interested in knowing if Burroughs and staff are looking at him.
Ethan is a relative of Leon Barmore and has another relative in Ruston. Ethan's dad is formerly from Shreveport and is an LSU alum. His mom is also an LSU alum, and I do not recall her hometown. Ethan is related to Leon on his mom's side of the family.
