BASEBALL Scrimmage Notes — 1.28.2022

Scrimmage Notes 1/28:

• Fincher was really sharp. Commanding the inner-half to right-handed hitters really well.
• McCleod at 3B, Elliott at 2B
• Myers in CF, made a diving play going back towards wall into LCF. Incredible play.
• Corona is a different guy catch and throw wise behind the plate.
• Brantley at 1B.
• CJ McWilliams is in the mix at 3B
• FYI, catchers have an ear piece this year to get pitch calls from the coach
• Gibson FB/CH combo looked nice
• Slade Netterville hit a solo HR off Fincher
• Ince is really good defensively, didn’t look great offensively. Swing was really flat from right side
• Easterling had a 2-run 2B. Smoked it. He’s in mix at 3B.
• McConnell didn’t play today.
• I still don’t think Myers ever hits enough to be an everyday guy.
• Cobb was the DH for the “1st team”, big left-handed hitter with pull side pop
• McCleod with a nice piece of hitting for an opposite field single
• Slaughter has looked really good at catcher defensively. Really good. He can really throw.
• Young is in mid-season form. Went 0-2 to 4-2, started jawing at Gibson haha.
• Team looks more athletic this year. Probably have more of a run game if needed.
