Halfway through the Marshall series Tech's record was pretty outstanding at 28-9 (.757) overall and 14-4 (.778) in CUSA. Since that debacle of a turning point we've finished our schedule going 8-7 overall with 8 of the games being played in Ruston and 7 played on the road. We went from a .757 winning percentage team over the first 37 games to a barely over .500 team over our final 15 games.
That's not a lack of talent, that is too much "We're the best team in C-USA", "We'll be fine, our fans sure do panic, LOL", "That's just baseball", "We're already in the tournament", "_____ just had one bad night tonight", "The other team has about 12 great ~5.00 ERA pitchers", "The bullpen is the only problem",...
Maybe the embarrassment and humiliation of being a "slightly above average" team for our last 15 games will get these players and coaches re-motivated to prove they are better than that. Or maybe it won't.
