Johnson had a strangle-hold on the job after the spring. Incumbent starter, Dallas Davis, transferred out to UAB. Campbell opened the job back up this fall, Johnson struggled early which opened the door for Garvin and Orth. Garvin will likely take the first snap on Saturday.
Johnson is the most talented QB, a 6'5 pocket passer, but is only a redshirt freshman.
Defensively, Nigel Lawrence and Bull Barge are two names to watch. Lawrence will play safety and had 83 tackles a season ago. Barge will play LB and had 77 tackles a season ago.
The defense will be the strong point of their team.

Former Tech RB, Tywun Walters is one of those players with a degree. He is suspended for game one. I don't see his name on the roster, so he may have left the program after graduating. But he is listed as one of 10 that will start the season with a degree.
