Good:
Pass pro improved. As it should against a FCS team.
Jmar and receivers. Still too many drops (Hardy for a sure TD) and too many errant throws on easy touch passes. But some really great catches, too. JMar's running looked good.
Smoke and Henderson. Both impressed in their coming out parties.
The Bad:
Kam McKnight. End the RB experiment. It's a failure.
Defense. Regressed. Southern studied the game film from South Alabama and learned well. The jet sweep kills us. Once again, we gave up far too many 1st downs on 3d and forever. Maybe it's just a scheme thing. I don't know. Tackling needs to improve. Second half was much better, as it should be. We have much more depth, and it showed. Southern's QB is a gamer.
The ugly:
Special Teams. Improved, but how could they not after last week's abysmal outing? Kicking was better. We still have zero blocking on kick returns. And can we at least fair catch a punt instead of letting the ball roll an extra 20 yards or so?
