RUSTON ? Louisiana Tech fans attending home athletic events this season will be dealing with a new concession vendor after Deputy Athletics Director Bruce Van De Velde announced Wednesday that the department had reached an agreement with Aramark.
Van De Velde said that the new agreement is just another step in the athletic departments continued effort to improve customer services with the Louisiana Tech fan base.
“We believe that Aramark will improve the quality of our concessions and enhance the game-day atmosphere for Tech fans and alumni,” Van De Velde said. “They are a professional company with a great reputation for customer service. Their expertise is food service, and they handle concessions in professional sports arenas and in major college venues across the country.”
Michael Michelle, Director of Louisiana Tech Dining Services for Aramark, said that the company has plans to upgrade and improve not only product choices but customer services as well.
“We are excited about aligning our services with the vision that Louisiana Tech Athletics has for its fans on gameday,” Michelle said. “We realize the impact that a high quality concessions experience will have on the overall fan experience, and we are looking forward to meeting that standard.”
Michelle said that Aramark has plans to upgrade concession equipment and stands and increase points of sales. They also plan to enhance the concessions menu to include such items as grilled burgers, grilled chicken sandwiches, jumbo hot dogs and sausage dogs as well as the normal items.
Aramark will also offer frozen minute maid lemonade as well as bottled water and sodas in souvenir Louisiana Tech cups.
Michelle also said that hawkers would be roaming the stands throughout the games selling the products.
