We had a couple of players that were, presumably, dumbasses. We had an administration, council that, presumably, came down on them like has never happened before at a critical time in the season. It cost Tech 2 losses, more than likely.
But what was the real cost of those 2 losses?
1- a minimum 10 win season
2- a possible chance at an Access Bowl bid with the accompanying dollars
3- a chance to be SOLIDLY in the Top 25, probably between 18 and 21
4- A chance to host a Conference Championship game
5- a possible Conference Championship
But beyond these and most importantly, it cost Tech Football RELEVANCY. Relevancy in Louisiana being solidly ranked. Relevancy in Bowl selection. Relevancy with recruits in attracting higher caliber players. Relevancy with N LA media.
As it stands, Tech is now another 9-3 G5 team. Oh what could possibly have been. Relevancy
