First off, Tech handled an inferior opponent like they should handle an inferior opponent.
J’Mar played ok. Hit the one deep ball to Powell early, nice touch throw TD to Hebert, missed a few posts that should have been TDs. I feel like he struggles with that 20 yard throw down the seam, sails it too much. Used his legs effectively. Showed great leadership on sideline when offense went into a little bit of a lull in 2nd Q.
Henderson is playing so well. Marcus showcased some talent. Getting Tucker in there late was valuable. Dancy needs a full week of practice leading up to USM.
WRs weren’t great. Hardy had a drop, Stanley dropped a TD, Toussant dropped a TD. Nice to see Graham get involved, made a couple of tough catches.
OL was rock solid. Opened up huge holes in run game, QBs weren’t really pressured at all.
DL was better, bunch of guys played. Baker has 3 TFL. Barnett had 3 QB hurries. Need to get the subbing against a hurry up offense cleaned up before USM, had only 9 or 10 guys on field too often.
LBs played well in zone. I loved it.
Secondary, saw some adjustments. On obvious passing downs, Amik goes to slot CB. Hannibal in at outside CB. Roberson had been nickel in first five weeks. Hannibal scares me. Williamson getting reps on obvious pass downs at safety, Lewis otherwise. Amik pick six was nice. Safeties were in good position most of night.
Overall, defense played their roles better I thought. Tackled well.
Hale kicked a few touchbacks!!! Otherwise, kickoffs were too low and extremely returnable and got exposed. Powell needs to be back on PR next week, I expect he will. Toussant with a big kickoff return, NICE.
Next week will be so emotional, guys were already talking about it last week. You all know why. Tech has to get over the mental hurdle that has been there the last 4 years. At 5-1, Tech did what they were supposed to do. It wasn’t always pretty, but wins are wins. We are about to really find out about this team next week. I’m jacked up, and I’m going to enjoy the heck out of it.
