Here are some news & notes that I wanted to share:
- It sounds like David Mackie is a serious candidate to fill the last vacant defensive coaching position. Mackie was a defensive analyst for Tech in 2020, Blackwell guy. He's been instrumental in landing the 3 transfer DBs. Has some strong recruiting ties in GA, but he'll recruit other areas as well.
- I don't know if I mentioned this previously but former Tech WR Paul Turner served as a GA in 2020, he is expected to return for a 2nd season in 2021. It wouldn't shock me to see him be on the full-time staff in the very near future.
- Keep an eye on TCU C/G Kellton Hollins. I feel pretty good about Tech landing him. He'd be here in June, has played 856 snaps in his career. PFF grade in the mid 60s.
- RB Marcus Williams Jr has been in Ruston, CB/S Elijah Hamilton got in yesterday, S Myles Mason and CB Baylen Buchanan will arrive today. I would assume Tech will announce them at some point this week.
