At 14-2, the 'Dogs will get another shot at the Cajuns tonight inside the friendly confines of J.C. Love Field. Tech defeated Lafayette twice last year which played a big role in the turn around for the program. Casey Sullivan will get the start for Tech, with the bullpen in great shape behind him.
Caleb Armstrong or Jack Burk will get the start for Lafayette. Burk is a freshmen who is 0-2 on the year, Armstrong has only seen 3.2 innings early on. Alex Pinero leads the Cajuns with a .404 average with 1 home run and 14 RBIs. Offensively it has certainly been a struggle to find an identity for the Cajuns, but what's new, the whole school struggles with identity. Their .335 team on base percentage is good for 208th in the country, not exactly potent by any means. The pitching staff has carried them to a 9-4 record by way of a 2.48 era good for 15th in the country.
It will be important for Sullivan to come out attacking the strike zone and not let the Cajuns get comfortable. Should be a cool night so scoring should be at a premium for sure. I would expect Nate Harris to get back in there, he hasn't pitched in 8 days. Should be a fun night.
