Here is the list I compiled with some thoughts about a few:
WR George Scott (JR) – ideally he plays four games and redshirts.
OL Carter Habich (SO) – ideally he plays four games and redshirts. Really talented, just needs to continue to mature, could be on two-deep at LG opening week against Texas.
WR Jawaun Johnson (JR) – there’s a chance he could end up playing, but I think he redshirts. I just don’t see where the snaps come from since he got here so late.
RB Elijah Hines (FR) – if there is an injury to Dancy, he could get a shot. Otherwise, it would be smart to redshirt. Just not enough snaps to go around at RB.
LB/DE Allen Walker (FR) – I’m not sure where the snaps will necessarily come out, but I think he’ll get a chance to prove he can play, at least in the first 1 or 2 games before a decision is made.
DL Keivie Rose (FR) – will be likely forced to play due to DL depth
LB Maki Carabin (FR) – if there are a few injuries is the only way he’d get a shot. Too much depth at ILB. Going to be a really good one, physically ready as a FR, he’ll RS
CB Carldaryl (CJ) Johnson (FR) – RS for sure, needs weight
CB Charvis Thornton (FR) – RS for sure
DL Mykol Clark (FR) – injury could force him into action some, but not more than 4 games, he’ll RS
QB Jakson Thomson (FR) – he’ll RS, try to push for QB job in 2020
S Christian Archangel (FR) – RS for sure
OL Jonah Brewster (FR) – RS for sure, I’ve been encouraged by his play at RT this fall
WR Kyle Maxwell (FR) – I think he’ll get his 4 games in and RS, closer to playing that I thought he’d be though, really good with the ball in the air
OL Stevie Ballard (FR) – RS for sure
S Khiry Morrison (FR) – RS for sure
OL Walker Hankinson (FR) – RS for sure
K/P Jacob Barnes (FR) – if Farlow really struggles, he could get a shot at punter, but I think he’s a RS, needs work in weight room
OLB/DE/DT DeShon Hall (FR) – much smaller than I thought he’s be coming in, made right decision coming to Tech, I think he ultimately ends up at DT, will RS
*All these classifications are based off the La Tech Sports website.
*I did not include walk-ons.
