BASEBALL Regional

Say we win the CUSA baseball tourney and the right teams in other conferences win or lose, and we were to move into the top 16 in RPI, have we already put a bid for a regional or will we do so? Do we have the manpower to get this done if it were all to fall into place on the RPI? Ben, how does this work? Thanks.

TECH NEWS Wally Crittenden hired at LA Tech

Crittenden has been hired by Ryan Ivey into a position that is similar to the position Colton Primm held prior to his departure for Arkansas.

Primms official title was Senior Associate AD - Championship Resources.

I’m not sure what Crittenden’s exact title will be, but he’s been hired to replace Primm.

BASEBALL GAME THREAD | Diamond Dogs vs Liberty

Louisiana Tech will travel to Lynchburg, VA to take on Liberty in its final regular season series of the season.

Thursday | 5 PM
Friday | 3 PM
Saturday | 12 PM

All 3 games can be found on ESPN+/SportsTalk 97.7 FM.

RHP Smith vs RHP Hetzler
LHP Nichols vs LHP Moran
RHP Hubka vs RHP Hudson (more of an opener type guy)

Notes on Liberty

- Liberty went to 3 straight regionals in 2019, 2021, & 2022, but have been under .500 in each of 2023 & 2024.
- Hetzler is a physical right-hander on Friday night. FB/CB guy.
- Moran is a left-hander that hasn't given them a ton of length throughout the year. FB/SL guy.
- Carter is probably their best arm out of the pen, can run it up into the high 90s, good SL. Command can escape him at times.
- Kepley is their best hitter, left-handed hitter. Good OBP, little bit of pop. Not a great defender in the OF.
- They'll play/start quite a few freshmen, so they'll likely be pretty good in future year. C is a freshman, good player that hits in middle of lineup. SS is a freshman too, pretty good defender.

I know y'all won't overreact to anything all weekend, let's go!! Big weekend!!

BASKETBALL An Early Look at 2024-2025 Roster

Here is what the roster looks like for 2024-2025 as of now:

PG

JR Sean Newman - 6'1, 160
JR Jordan Crawford - 6'3, 175
FR AJ Bates - 6'3, 190

SG

JR Amoree Abram - 6’4, 200
JR Al Green - 6'3, 180

SR Ben Ponder - 6'3, 200 -- walk-on

SF

JR Devin Ree - 6'8, 180
FR Landren Blocker - 6'6, 200

PF

RS SR Isaiah Crawford - 6'6, 220
- Will go through the NBA Draft process, then make his decision on whether or not to return to Tech. There has been zero indication that transferring is even on the table.
JR Sean Elkinton - 6’8, 220
JR Will Jeffress - 6’7, 210
FR Clarence Payia - 6’6, 180

C

RS SR Daniel Batcho - 6'11, 235
- Will go through the NBA Draft process, then make his decision on whether or not to return to Tech. There has been zero indication that transferring is even on the table.
RS JR Will Allen - 6'7, 225

Notes:

- No spots open.
- If you get Iso & Batcho back, you're going to be right back in the mix at the top of the conference again next season.
- I think you need to add a 3/4 that can spell Crawford, and I think you need to add an older 2-guard that can shoot/score. Thoughts?
