Perry Roth is in his first year as the Blazers HC, had been a long-time assistant for the program.
UAB was picked to finish 11th of 12 teams in the preseason.
They are 9-13 overall, 2-2 in league play. They split with Middle Tennessee at home last weekend. They are 0-4 on the road.

Offensively, they play small ball a bunch, steal a bunch of bases. Only slug .360 a team, so they don't have a ton of pop.

Carson Knight -- he'll start Thursday, probably been a littler better than his numbers indicate, only allowed 4 extra base hits all year, but it's a road start and he's a freshman
Riley Davis -- he'll start Game 1 on Friday, he's their best arm, lows 90s, good slider, won't blow hitters away though
Tyler O'Clair -- he'll start Game 2 on Friday, big 6'5 sophomore, good downhill plane, has allowed 7 HR in 37 IP, 11 2B & 3B combined as well
Austin Bohannon -- many consider him their best starter, big left-hander, bunch of walks this year, but he hasn't allowed a ton of hits
Their closer from a year ago is out for the year. Bullpen has a bunch of average arms in it. Should be an offensive weekend for Tech.
