From all accounts this week had a very normal look and feel around Tech basketball -- that was until Thursday afternoon.
Tech assistant coaches had individual workouts with current players and Mike White was around the TAC everyday. Just before lunch on Thursday Pat Forde dropped the bomb that White was the leader to take over for Billy Donovan at Florida. I reached out to sources and all were shocked.
Around 4:00 there was team meeting for White to tell his team he was headed to Gainesville to be the head coach of the Florida Gators.
It happened that fast on campus yesterday. It appears Jeremy Foley zeroed in on Mike White and in typical Foley fashion he led a secretive search and knew who he wanted. All that was left was the negotiating and then the crying.
