Have you ever heard of World War II POW Camp Ruston? It was a camp that at it's peak held 4,315 German prisoners of war 78 years ago. Below is some info on it. If you want to see the last two standing buildings go to the Grambling University West campus, drive through the gate, turn right, and drive to the back by the water tower. There you will see the last two barracks and behind there is an old prison baseball field. To get to Grambling West take the Grambling exit south from I-20, turn right on Martin Luther King Dr heading west. You'll see the campus about 2 miles down the road. It is easy to envision the train stopping to unload prisoners into the camp.
