FOOTBALL Game Week Practice Report #2 - FIU

Lighter practice on this beautiful Wednesday afternoon.

Lyddy continues to get a bunch of reps with 1s. A bunch.

McNeil is out there.

Tahj Magee is out this week.

Looks like Beejay Williamson & J-Cole will be back. Full participants today.

Hebert is getting close. He’s trying to convince the staff that’s he’s ready to go. I still lean towards he won’t play.

Mote will be at center this week. Hale at LG. Hale must have been in class on Monday night. A couple of guys were.

Nason will have a role on the defense going forward. Earned it Saturday. Gives a little more depth a DT.

There was a LB that was hurt a few weeks ago that hasn’t been around since. Take that how you want to take it.

An NFC North team was in for the 3rd time this fall. You can guess who they were taking a look at.

Need a W. I liked the energy today.

FOOTBALL Weekly Practice Report - FIU Game Week

Beautiful night under the lights tonight.

Looks like Hall, Lyles, and Lewis will for sure be back.

Ray Kelly back to center. Mote to LG. I don’t see Hale.

Hebert probably out another week.

J-Cole & Williamson will be questionable.

Buck FGs at end of practice. Wow. Off the top of the DAC from 40 yards.

Lyddy got TONS of reps with the 1s. Ball rarely touched the ground. Maybe 5 times all of practice.

McNeil practiced some.

Going to a fun game plan this week.

I’ve never seen Sonny Cumbie more animated in my life at end of practice. He’s HOT this week.

GAME THREAD GAME THREAD | LA Tech vs Rice

Louisiana Tech (2-4, 1-1) and Rice (3-3, 1-1) are scheduled to kickoff at 2 PM on Saturday afternoon.

Malcolm Butler & Teddy Allen will have the radio call on KXKZ 107.5 FM. Pregame show starts at 12:30 PM.

The game can be streamed on ESPN+.

BC & Beck will have the Impact Healthcare Solutions Postgame Call-In Show following the conclusion of the game. Call us on the Greg Phillips State Farm Hotline at 800-730-8031.

Tech will honor its 1972 National Championship team at the game on Saturday.

Tech leads the series 9-5 all-time. The Bulldogs are 5-1 against the Owls at The Joe.

The Bulldogs last defeated the Owls 23-20 in OT back in 2019.

Tech is 70-24-2 in homecoming games in its history.

Rice is a 3-point road favorite.

LB Tyler Grubbs, WR Julien Lewis, CB Cedric Woods, DT DJ Jackson, DE Tristan Allen, C Abraham Delfin, & TE Griffin Hebert will miss the game due to injury for Tech.

Rice ranks 35th nationally in total defense. Can the Bulldogs get the offensive attack in rhythm against a very good defensive unit?

Louisiana Tech ranks 131st nationally allowing 264 yards per game on the ground. Can Tech stop the Rice run game?

Need a W. Let's go!!

I also forgot to mention that Rasheed Lyles missed the game due to the death of his grandmother. She raised him. Whoever planned the funeral planned it for 1 PM yesterday afternoon.

GAME THREAD GAME THREAD | LA Tech vs UTEP

Louisiana Tech and UTEP are set for a 6 PM kickoff on Saturday night.

The game will be on ESPN+ and KXKZ 107.5 FM.

Impact Healthcare Solutions postgame call-in show on KXKZ 107.5 FM following the game. Greg Phillips State Farm Hotline 800-730-8031.

Louisiana Tech is 1-3 overall. UTEP is 3-3 overall.

From a health standpoint: Julien Lewis (Will Play), DJ Jackson (Probable), Josh Mote (Questionable), Cyrus Allen (Doubtful), Solomon Lewis (Doubtful), Cedric Woods (Doubtful)

Parker McNeil will make his 4th career start at quarterback for the Bulldogs. Landry Lyddy has been cleared to play, for those wondering.

Bert Hale will start at LG if Mote is unable to go.

I would expect that you'll start seeing Biron Rossell more often at an offensive tackle spot as a sub. He's finally 100%.

UTEP has run the ball 99 times in the last two weeks. Only 25 passes.

This game will be won at the line of scrimmage, plain and simple. Well, turnovers will matter too.

Tech is a 3-point favorite.
