Cincinnati, Memphis, UCF, Boise, BYU, and Colorado State are the mentions I have seen the most if the Big 12 expands. I have also seen USF, Houston, Marshall (crazy) and East Carolina. I dont think Boise or Marshall have the Academics, plus why would West Virginia want Marshall in?
Assuming two schools from the AAC get in (Cincy and Memphis), the AAC will look like this:
West:
Houston
SMU
Tulsa
Tulane
East:
USF
UCF
UCONN
ECU
Temple
Navy (Football Only)
There will be a great opportunity for LA Tech and Southern Miss in the West. If UCF gets in, Marshall would be a candidate in the East. UAb dropping football takes them out of the picture.
I think we are several years out from being in a discussion about the Big 12, although I see Tech mentioned by fans on twitter some. I do think Tech could be at the top of the list to replace a Memphis or Cincy in the AAC, and that could be a really good fit.
