Guys I will break down our defense which will prove that it's ALL coaching. We have the worst scheme in college football. Lets dive into it:
Play #1 at 0:04 mark. NT lines up in a 2-back set(8 in the box). LA Tech has 6 in the Box. We are pre-snap beat already. At the snap of the ball #5 crashes down hard inside and both LB's didn't read the guard pulling(keys). Safety#2 is out of position goes inside the block for easy TD. It all starts that against a 2-Back formation, we are short in the box.
Play#2 at 1:21 mark. We are backed up in the red-zone and Power still remains in a 2shell look(instead of locking down). NT uses motion to trick us like previous film has shown them. #1 & #19 on the backside appears to be confused and NT could've thrown the out route to the TE for an easy TD, however they came to the motion side and worked on #6 who should've collision the inside WR however he gets lost in coverage and the QB throws the ball where he should've been.
Play #3 at the 1:40 mark. NT again lines up in a 2-back set and we stay in 4-2-5. They have 8 in the box and we have 6 AGAIN!! It appears we called the strength to the field instead of the true strength(toward the snifer back). They used a split flow(1 RB goes 1 way and the other goes the other way). #6 didn't read his keys and just ran to the other side. We are short on the TD side and #2 didn't want any of the smoke. Another Easy TD.
Play# 4 at the 2:02 mark. We ran a 4 man game up front. both DE's went inside and both DT's went outside. #93 is now the contain man on flow away. As you can see, he is just jogs down the line of scrimmage. On flow away he should know to have bootleg or reverse. If NTex don't fumble this ball, the WR is still running..
Play #5 at the 2:47 mark. N Tex with another 2 back set. Power finally figures out that we need to put 7 in the box. #11 tries to maul the WR and uses bad tech on press coverage. The safety should see the OLine pop up for pass Pro and get over the top. Don't understand why we play press without pressure. it was 2nd & 20 and we have corners pressed. Wasn't smart on that down and distance situation. Had the nickel #8 underneath and safety inside. No need to allow the WR outside release on 2nd & 20. Power was standing down there.
Play #6 at the 4:23 mark. NTex goes trips again and isolate #6 whom job is to collision #3WR and carry the vertical route. He does neither. This is where Power should be in a Dime Defense. Take #6 out and bring in #13 & #8. Both can run and based on the personnel group that NTex has on the field we should watch them. Both Safeties are 17 yards deep(prevent depth). With on 46 seconds on the clock we had to play for pass in that situation and have the appropriate personnel on the field. N Tex schemed us again.
Play #7 at the 4:34 mark. With only 13 secs left on the clock.. NTex said I think we can get Coach Power again with our 2-back set. They have 8 in the box and we have 6 in the box. They decided to run(I would've as well). We didn't have enough hats in the box and got schemed again. I'm screaming in the stands "run, run-they are setting up for field goal". Sure enough no one on our staff saw the personnel 2-back group and it cost'd us. SMDH
