While perusing the golf roster for 2025-2026, I discovered three new players as added by Matt Terry, Head Golf Coach, as follows:
Abel Derksen:
Abel spent one season, 2024-2025, at the University of Washington. He is from Wassenaar, Netherlands.
Chase Williams:
Chase spent two seasons, 2023-2024 and 2024-2025, at Odessa College. He is from Odessa, Texas.
Seth Campbell:
Seth spent two seasons, 2020-2021 and 2021-2022, at Midland College and three seasons, 2022-2023, 2023-2024, and 2024-2025, at University of Texas at Tyler. He is a graduate student.
The latter two golfers played on very good teams at their respective programs and should be a plus at Tech.
Some of you may have or have not heard of the departure of Tech's #1 golfer, Niilo Maki-Petaja (Helsinki, Finland) who spent two seasons, 2023-2024 and 2024-2025, at Tech. Niilo had several accolades, including but not limited to CUSA Freshman of the Year (2023-2024), First Team All-CUSA (2024), Louisiana Freshman of the Year (2024), First Team All-Louisiana (2024), Second Team All-CUSA (2025), and NCAA Regional Participant (2024 and 2025). According to Arkansas Golf Twitter, Niilo's addition to the program was announced on May 22. Before today (06/20, I wasn't aware that Niilo had transferred to the Razorbacks.
