Rush Limbaugh died this morning of complications from lung cancer at age 70. His wife Kathryn announced this during his show this morning.
I first saw Rush Limbaugh on his TV show in the mid-90s and rediscovered him on the radio during my college years in the early 2000s. He was the preeminent voice of conservatism and talk radio. I always enjoyed his way of communicating on the radio, his use of satire and parody, and his method of explaining the complex issues in simple terms. He saved the AM band during a time where the medium was mostly left for dead, and talk radio wouldn't be around as we know it without Limbaugh.
RIP, Uncle Rush.
