In today's 4A Division II state championship game, Gilmer led Carthage 14-7 after the first quarter. Carthage out-scored Gilmer 35-0 in the second quarter and led 42-14 at that half.
In the second half, Carthage did not let up, out-scoring Gilmer 28-0. Carthage won their eighth state title.
