Diamond Dogs will open up a 3-game Conference USA series at home against FIU tonight.

Friday 6 PM
Saturday 2 PM
Sunday 11 AM

All 3 games on SportsTalk 97.7 FM/CUSA.tv.

Want to make a move in C-USA standings? Need to sweep this one. FIU is 3-9 in the league.

It’ll be interesting to see how Tech responds after the debacle midweek.

MBB RECRUITING Visitor on Campus this Weekend

Louisville transfer G/F Devin Ree was on campus this weekend for an official visit.

6’8, 180.

He’s from Jackson, MS, but he played his senior year of HS hoops at Oak Hill Academy. He can really score the basketball. Top 100 player coming out of HS in 2022.

I just spoke with Ree. He said everything went really well, really enjoyed Ruston. I’ll continue to monitor it.

Louisiana Tech University VP and Director of Athletics Eric Wood announced today plans for the construction of a champions plaza as Phase 1 of a three-phase project to redesign the north endzone entrance at Joe Aillet Stadium.

8. Hank Bachmeier, Louisiana Tech​

Bachmeier has already had a heck of a career at Boise State before hitting the portal and landing in Ruston for his final collegiate season. He has thrown for nearly 7,000 career yards and 41 TDs. A career record of 20-9 is something else he brings to Sonny Cumbie’s new-look Bulldog squad. With any luck, they’ll better the 3-9 record of 2022.

Road trip to Houston for the Diamond Dogs on this Easter weekend.

Thursday - 6:30 PM
Friday - 6:30 PM
Saturday - 2:00 PM

All 3 games will be on CUSA.tv/SportsTalk 97.7 FM.

The Owls are 14-15 (5-4), but they did go toe-to-toe w/ UTSA a couple of weekends ago.

RHP Parker Smith is their ace. He’s 2-1 with a 1.73 ERA. He gives up hits and doesn’t strikeout an alarming rate, but he’s only allowed 4 extra base hits in 41+ innings.

Weather is supposed to be rough all weekend. So stay tuned for updates.
