Here are some of the things that I felt were notable:

- Teams are playing 2-deep, 6 underneath, didn't see that as much in first 5 games.
- Really attacking our offensive tackles, interior of OL is playing really well.
- Excited to see KHB start to play a bigger role.
- WRs are playing well.
- Guys are playing well, but we really need the OTs to come around, that is the biggest issue right now.
- How to fix it? Little bit of everything, we are trying to stay out of drop back passing on 3rd down. Want to use that more on 1st and 2nd down when defensive personnel is different. Need to help OL more on 3rd down.
- Kendall is getting antsy, and we understand it. When he started season, he really trusted the OL a lot. He's not trusting them as much, that's part of human nature, but he's got to trust those guys.
- Also not seeing very much man defense, it's all zone. That's when you have to use more WR concepts. We have to take what they give us vs trying to fit square peg into the round hole.
- Marcus Williams is playing through a groin strain. Having to monitor how big of a workload he's getting, he's not practicing much.
- Only had 7 players in the Victor's Club this week, when we are winning football games we normally have 14-15.
- We are playing way too hard to make some of the mistakes we are making.
- Came out of UTSA game healthy. Levi Bell will keep seeing his reps increase.
- Defensively, held UTSA to 3/10 on third down, gave up 1 big run. The hard thing, they had ran that exact same play earlier in game and it went for 3 yards. We were out of alignment the 2nd time. 35 points were scored on pick six, big pass play when both defenders took the flat, fumble, personal foul, etc. That has nothing to do with what an opponent is doing to beat us. Those are our issues. We have to control what we can control.
- Rose & Jackson are playing really well. Ben Bell is growing up, he's always had energy, but he's starting to play more under control.
- Our CBs & S didn't play very well. When you give up big plays, it's on the back end. Safeties had 6 missed tackles, that's dangerous.
- Second play of game, they used motion into the boundary. CB made the adjustment with the safety, safety never made the call. It's day one installation, you buddy call it. We just didn't do it. We've seen those concepts from opposing offenses 100 times this year.
- We are playing hard, but playing hard isnt good enough to win. We have to play smarter. Front 7 is doing it's job, but we need to do better in secondary and on the offensive line.
- On the pick six, we motioned Smoke and they altered the coverage. They went with Smoke, it read man, but Austin knew as soon as it left his hand he had mis-read it. He played a good football game outside of that one play.
- We have got to be better in the red zone. We aren't forcing field goals, and we are kicking too many field goals.
- Kody Fulp is playing really well, it's good to have him back. We can get big with him being back. He allows us to rest Trey Baldwin some as well. Allen Walker is going to be really good as well, just stuck behind some good players.
- We have really missed Levi Bell from a pass rush standpoint, he was causing a bunch of havoc. We got some pressure at times, but Harris had 50 yards rushing on Saturday with very few true run plays called. He's seasoned.
- Nice to see Barajas performing in games like he's been performing in practice. I thought it was our best game on special teams all year outside of the fumble. Kickoff coverage was good, punt return was 7 yards better than their punt return.
- ODU is a good defensive football team, top 5 in most categories in the conference
- Who are we to take anyone for granted? They may be 1-6, but we can't afford to overlook anyone. We do love afternoon games on the road. We want to play at whatever time at home, whatever time the fans want us to play. I wish we'd have played better in front of that student crowd the other night, it was great.
- ODU made QB change for WKU, then went into the bye week. He threw for 300+ yards in his first game. So it'll be interesting to see what they throw at us. Wolff is a very talented play at QB.
- WV and Penn State transfers at WR are tough to defend.
- They are totally different when you look at the record, then you turn on the film.
- They are playing with 8 FR & SO on offense now that they started 1-5.
- We can play Cover 2, but double slants is a Cover 2 beater. They put the 225-pound WR against Woods, and they hit on a couple different 3rd downs. We do have to do better against slants in man coverage. Slants won't beat you, but they will pick up first downs and we have to be able to take that away.
- We need to see more of KHB, he looked good. Showed good speed, he's getting really comfortable in our offense. Doing a really nice job. We are going to ask him to take on a bigger role, and he needs to.

That's my notes. Fire away.
