BASEBALL Lane Burroughs, Ethan Bates, and Dalton Davis speak w/ media ahead of Fayetteville Regional - 5.27.2024

Lane Burroughs on #LATech heading to the Fayetteville Regional.

- Is there a good draw? Is there a bad draw? There’s going to be a lot of storylines in this regional. I’ve worked for Dave Van Horn at NSU, Andy Sawyer is the HC at SEMO & he played for Van Horn, he replaced me at Kansas State. I coached at Kansas State, and Mitch Gaspard coached at Kansas State. And obviously our Player of the Year Ethan Bates played at Arkansas.

Moran allowed 5 runs in 4.1 innings of work against Tech last Friday. Walked 5, allowed 5 hits, and struck out 2.

Let’s go!!

BASEBALL GAME THREAD | Diamond Dogs vs Middle Tennessee - (CUSA Tournament 5.22)

Louisiana Tech will square-off with Middle Tennessee in the first round of the CUSA Tournament on Wednesday.

First pitch is set for 4 PM on ESPN+/SportsTalk 97.7 FM.

Tech won 2 of 3 against MTSU at home in early April.

Reed Smith will get the start for Tech. I assume Patrick Johnson will be the start for the Blue Raiders.

The lefty Alderman started on Saturday against DBU, so I doubt they’d bring him back that quick.

Johnson allowed 4 R (3 ER) in 6.2 IP against Tech on April 7th. He struck out 7.

MTSU hits .283 as a team and have three guys with double-digit HRs. They’ve also stolen nearly 70 bases, so they’ll run some.

The Blue Raiders team ERA is north of 7 and opponents hit .330 against their pitching.

NCAA ~$14 Million NIL Lawsuit

Former U of Florida football recruit Jaden Rashada has sued coach Billy Napier, a Florida booster and others, claiming they defrauded him out of millions of dollars by backing out of a promised $13.85 million NIL agreement after the quarterback turned down offers from other programs.
Rashada claims he signed his national letter of intent to Florida on Dec. 21, 2022, less than an hour after Napier promised the player's father a $1 million "partial payment" that day upon signing. Rashada never received the $1 million, and the boosters never fulfilled the deal.
Lawyers are loving them some NIL deals!!!!! lol

BASEBALL Regional

Say we win the CUSA baseball tourney and the right teams in other conferences win or lose, and we were to move into the top 16 in RPI, have we already put a bid for a regional or will we do so? Do we have the manpower to get this done if it were all to fall into place on the RPI? Ben, how does this work? Thanks.
