Louisiana Tech will open conference play at UTSA this weekend.

Friday -- 6 PM
Saturday -- 2 PM
Sunday -- 1 PM

All 3 games will be on CUSA.tv.

Fincher, Jennings and Whorff will start on the mound for Tech.

Taylor Young leads Tech in OPS, batting average, slugging %, OBP, hits, 2B, 3B, BB, SB, and SF. He's have an INCREDIBLE season.

UTSA is off to a an 11-5 start in 2022.

It's really more of the same for the Roadrunners from what we saw in 2021.

They are as good of an offensive club as we'll see all year, but they really struggle on the mound.

D1 Baseball picked them to finish 8th in C-USA. I think that's probably close to correct, maybe a tick or two higher.

Top Offensive Players:

Shane Sirdashney -- .413, 1 HR, 13 RBI

Leyton Barry -- .356, 1 HR, 15 RBI

Ian Bailey -- .328, 6 HR, 19 RBI

Jonathan Tapia -- .311, 1 HR, 8 RBI

Ryan Flores -- .306, 3 HR, 14 RBI

They are averaging 8.6 runs per game.

Top Pitchers:

On the mound, they have a 5.19 team era.

Luke Malone -- 0.98 ERA in 18.1 innings of work. He's only allowed 10 hits.

Other than that, it's tough to say who their top guys are. They've thrown 19 different pitchers. Some have had some success, some haven't. They don't really have go-to guys in their bullpen, it's a feel thing for Pat Hallmark. He likes to play match-ups. It basically boils down to they aren't very good, but at the same time it can be difficult to get a rhythm offensively with as many arms as they use on a given night.

They walk over 5 guys a game. BB/HBP will be key for Tech in this series if it wants to explode offensively.

Need a series victory on the road. Let's go.
