C-USA Conference USA Signed Grant of Rights w/ New Media Deal

In addition to this new five-year media rights contract (plus a one-year option), CUSA schools have signed a grant of rights, according to a source familiar with the agreement, giving their media rights to the conference and keeping the league locked together through the deal. It’s a major step up in stability from recent years, and no other Group of 5 conference has a grant of rights.

This comes from Chris Vannini’s C-USA preview in the athletic.

Alright Newbs

Here’s how it goes:

1. Win a game and show some promise.
2. Get whipped by a team you WISH you were a peer of.
3. Settle into the conference schedule and win MOST of the games you’re supposed to.
4. Go bowling.

If we don’t go bowling, Cumbie should probably be fired. If we do go bowling, he probably NOT get an extension.

This is the life of a Tech fan…it’s ups and downs, but you DID get a good education.

FOOTBALL PFF Player Grades| LA Tech vs SMU

Takeaways:

- Hank was pretty good considering how much pressure he had on him
- Everyone else pretty meh on offense, Delfin struggled
- Roberts was sensational at CB
- Richard really good in his first start
- Durham-Campbell likely to see his snaps continue to increase
- Heard had 4 missed tackles which resulted in the low grade, and it’s apparent Power benched him for a bit for Roberson

FOOTBALL Self Inflicted Wounds!!!

We lost last night and took a step back IMHO.

1. The C missed the same blitz 2 times (Maybe 3) for wide open sacks by the LB…..????
2. Pick 6 and extra point = Easy 7
3. 12 men on the field on 4th down punt and they get the ball back (I think the drove the length for 7)
4. We hold them on 4th down and and tackle their player and our LB face makes that downed player. (They then drive down for 7 I think)
5. 4th and 2 and we have not successfully ran the ball all day long……HCSC goes for it and we get stopped on downs (Again they then score points)
