FOOTBALL PFF Player Grades | LA Tech vs Northwestern State

Some good performances last night:

- Keith Willis stepped up
- Bruno & Hale were the starting OL that played well
- Tru Edwards is playing tons of snaps, and he’s giving absolutely nothing. Maxwell is hurt now, so I’m ready to go with DeColdest in real significant spots
- Durham-Campbell is starting to ball
- Richard is just a good football player
- LBs really struggled

FOOTBALL Snap Count Totals | LA Tech vs Northwestern State

Here. We. Go.

- 33 players saw snaps on offense, 23 on defense
- Rossell at RG, Brewster was behind him
- Delfin 31 snaps at C, Nelson had 27. Something to watch going forward.
- Locke got 24 snaps. In my opinion, he’s just not ready for a big role. He’s missing a bunch of blocks, which is why he’s in the game. Parr loves him, and he’s really improved, just not ready yet.
- The plan had to have been to get Shelton a few touches and get him out
- It’s the Randle & Boateng show at LB
- DGT won’t get his spot back from Richard
- Durham-Campbell needs more snaps, but Clark & Burnett are playing really well
- Mcelvane got a good look at safety
- First snaps for Evans at DE

FOOTBALL Top 10 Green Tidbits for the Blue

Following a loss on the road to FIU last night, many interesting comments are being voiced in Denton. Some comments consist of:

- Only 8 more weeks.....until basketball.

- You think the AD should be coaching the team?

- Our defense is TERRIBLE!

- The defense is going to have to substantially improve to win one conference game.

- Our defense was atrocious AND extremely UNDERSIZED; we have to get better at tackling, or we are screwed.

- Not one sack.

- The 3-man front is an awful idea at our level.

- Maybe we should go back to the Eagles until we figure out how to be Mean again.

- Hope we can score against ACU or eek (eke) out 1 win this year. (Note: Game is on 09/30.)

- Not sure if I've ever seen a defense so teeny tiny. How is a defense this small supposed to compete? Why would anyone do anything but line up and run over that defense. You can't put a scheme in place to make up for a defense full of 5'10"/190 players. (See defensive starters below against FIU)

End - 6'1"/240/Jr
Nose - 5'11"/303/Jr
LEO - 6'1"/282/So (? End)
SLB - 5'11"/214/Jr
MLB - 6'1"/228/Jr
WLB - 5'10"/213/Sr
FS - 5'10"/170/Jr
BS - 6'0'/198/Jr
STAR - 5'11"/190/Jr
CB - 5'8"/181/Jr
CB - 6'0"/187/Sr

It could be an interesting night...Dogs unleash their RBs, Bachmeier and company keeps the defense off-balance, and the defense must play well against the Mean Green or Eagles' offense to get the win.

OFF TOPIC How have your sports interests changed?

Curious about this, as I’ve posted about my falling out of love with college football a few times.

If I look back at 2018 (a nice round number at 5 years ago), I think my interests looked something like this:
1. College football
2. college basketball
3. MLB
4. NFL
5. College baseball

And if I think about it now…
1. MLB
2. College basketball
3. College baseball

With college football a distant fourth and the NFL not even registering (I haven’t watched a full game in years).

I just…man, I just do not care at all for the NFL. It sucks. It’s a crappy entertainment product (that is somehow amazingly even worse in person). And college football is pro football lite now.

Love my school, love all y’all, love the community we’ve all been a part of for over a decade, but just don’t care about Bulldog football (or any football) anymore. I’ll watch but I’m emotionally out on it.

Curious if others have had a similar falling out with the sport.
